A Day in San Antonio (brief guide)

Hi Friends!

Hoping all of my fellow Americans had a great 4th of July! I got to spend the day in San Antonio, TX with my family, where we got to explore the riverwalk and watch some fireworks.

San Antonio is one of my favorite cities! Hear me out: I came so much as a child, and we always had a great time! I always associate this city with family, fun, and a mini-getaway.

San Antonio has a lot to offer. There’s shopping, nature, and not to mention several historical sites around the city.

Shopping

There is so much of a shopping variety in San Antonio. Whether you’re looking for market-trinkets or upscale shopping, you are bound to find a shopping center for your liking. Check out Shops at La Cantera for stores like Anthropologie, Forever 21, H&M, lululemon, Madewell, Nordstrom, and Zara.

Market Square has got to be one of the cutest markets! They have many little shops and “is described as the largest Mexican Market outside of Mexico”.

Hiking

If you are more of the outdoorsy type, San Antonio offers the Friedrich Wilderness Park, Government Natural State Canyon Area, and the Breckenridge Park. These parks are beautiful and they are a great way to get outside…even if the weather deters you!

Historical Sites

San Antonio is probably known around the state for its Alamo Mission. “Established in 1718 as Mission San Antonio de Valero, for over 300 years the former mission now known as the Alamo has been a crossroads of history”. In addition to the Alamo, San Antonio offers Mission San Jose, San Fernando de Bexar Cathedral, and of course the River Walk!

San Antonio’s south-central location makes it ideal to get to other cities like Austin. Alright friends, I hope you enjoyed this brief recap of San Antonio. My family and I had a great time exploring all of these places on our trip there.

Where did you spend the 4th? Didn’t do anything? How’d your Tuesday go? Let me know in the comments below!
